Trombiculidae of the World :: Type Specimen Database
This online database contains records for primary types of mites in the family Trombiculidae collected from several of the worlds major collections of mites. The mite collections from which these data were collected include the Bernice P. Bishop Museum, Honolulu, The Natural History Museum, London, and The Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris. Additional specimens from other museums will be added continually.
This searchable database, which includes high resolution digital micrographs of type specimens, accompanying label data, and other relevant information will serve as valuable identification tool, as well as a means to record and disseminate important ecological and taxonomic data to scientists and other end users.
